Antarang was my first child.

Before Hania and Jyana were born, Antarang had already begun teaching me motherhood — in its own way.

And just like no mother is perfect, no entrepreneur begins fully prepared.

Accounts were never my strength.
Technology felt overwhelming.
E-commerce, photoshoots, systems — I learnt them all slowly, through trial and error.

What I truly understood was craft. Creativity. People. Community.

And that is where our Rakhi journey began.

The Beginning – Simple Threads, Big Belief

When we first started making Rakhis, many of our artisans were still learning. Their embroidery wasn’t perfect. Mirrors weren’t always symmetrical. Threads weren’t always experimental.

We could have rejected their work. But we chose something different.

"We created simple Rakhis — giving artisans the space to learn, earn and grow with dignity."

And something beautiful happened. People loved them.
Not because they were flawless, but because they were honest.

Growing With Every Season

The next year, we expanded our collection. We sold out.

By the third year, craft-based brands began approaching us. We slowly found our niche in the handmade Rakhi segment, supplying to some of India’s finest craft-focused brands.

During Covid, a leading e-commerce platform approached us. We were on cloud nine. Were we technically ready? Maybe not. Our photos were clicked on basic mobile phones. Raw setups. Simple backgrounds.

But today, when we look back at those images, we don’t see limitations.

We see courage. We see growth. We see a journey stitched with persistence.

Over the years, we’ve supplied to boutiques, conscious brands, and craft retailers across India. With every Rakhi season, our artisan community has grown stronger.

Why We Open Bulk Orders Early

Rakhi is not just a festival for us. It is a season of employment.

Most of our rural women artisans balance agricultural field work, household responsibilities, and craft production for additional income.

Placing bulk orders during the summer ensures:

  • Timelines are strictly assured
  • Quality improves with meticulous planning
  • No last-minute production pressure
  • Work happens at a sustainable pace
  • Artisans receive vital early income support
